All About Associate Degree Online
The internet and computer technology has opened up many opportunities to people. For people that find themselves isolated due to their living location or disabilities, are no longer cut off from events that are happening. Television can bring people news and current events, however with the internet individuals can chat with others about current affairs. You can also play cards and interact around topics of special interest.
The educational opportunities are also wonderful. There is the opportunity to get your GED as well as advanced educational degrees. This helped my sister a great deal. A few months before my sister was to start college she was in a car accident. As a result of the accident she needed to be in a body cast for several months and then have extensive physical therapy. She was getting very depressed watching her classmates go to college and feeling that she was going to miss a year of study and always be behind them. We found a program where she could earn her associate degree on line. She could work at her own pace and at the time of day when it was most comfortable for her to be at the computer. We thought she would begin her general education classes and then join her classmates once she was out of the body cast. She found that her stamina was very low and she had varying times when she was able to concentrate. She continued with her audio visual training and earned her associate degree on line within twelve months.
Getting her associate degree on line was a boost for her self esteem. Not only had she kept up with her classmates, she had earned her associate degree on line and was a year ahead academically. This was a great advantage for her when she did start college because she was able to take a lighter load while she adjusted to being out of the house and building up her stamina. It is important for her to have the interaction with others on campus, but she had told me that she preferred learning at her own pace through the internet. After having the experience of getting her associate degree on line she has plans to obtain an advanced degree in the same manor. She is enjoying her time on campus, but she feels she would be able to work with a bachelor’s degree and earn her masters at the same time. The internet and on line education has kept her from getting depressed and giving up.
