Marketing Course Online
When I first heard about online marketing classes, I was naturally skeptical. The idea of taking a marketing course online did have some appeal to me, but it did not seem like such a realistic proposition. After all, I had heard that online degrees were not worth the paper they were printed on. I knew that it was possible to take an online course and gain some further experience to enrich your career path, but I was skeptical that you could really start a career with one.
Nonetheless, I opted to take a marketing course online. You see, I was stuck in a dead-end job with nothing but work and free time. Don't get me wrong. I made decent money, but I was underemployed and hated my job. The only thing that kept me there, to tell you the truth, was my fear of going out in the world and looking for a new one. I figured that, with all the time that I had, I might as well do something to at least investigate a possible career change. I'm glad that I took the risk and signed up for the marketing courses online.
The marketing course online that I took was through what was, as far as I could tell, a respectable Internet business school. It took about 10 hours a week to complete all the work, which is not bad as far as these things go. It was interesting to learn about how much advertising influences what we see and what we desire in our lives, but I wasn't really expecting to gain much in terms of career experience. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise when I finished that marketing course online!
You see, after I completed the marketing course online, I began to send out applications for entry-level advertising positions. I was picked up by almost the first one that I mailed my resume to. They were not particularly impressed with my education, and they told me as much in the interview. What did impress them was my cover letter, and the sleek appearance of my resume. Although the marketing course online did not really get me that position, it did give me the confidence to apply. You see, after taking that class, I felt like a real advertiser. Having the confidence let me put my resume out there, and having my resume out there got me the job almost immediately.
